This event will kick off with a keynote speech by Victor L. Hoskins, Deputy Mayor for Planning and Economic Development. After the keynote, we will look at the local tech start-up scene and the role of the District government in growing, supporting and retaining technology-related companies in the city. Panelists will discuss the challenges in starting a tech business, success secrets of tech start-ups and the benefits of starting a tech company in the District. The panel discussion will be moderated by Donna Harris (Startup America Partnership). Panelists include: David Zipper (Office of the Deputy Mayor for Planning and Economic Development) and Julie Silard Kantor (Barrel of Jobs). An additional panelist will be announced soon.
